1945: Valentino Maganzini
and his first grinding truck.
Valentino Maganzini immigrated
to America during the Great Depression. As one of the first master Italian
grinders to settle in the Boston area, he founded General Grinding Services in
1933.
After years of determination and dedication to his customers, Valentino was able
to build his business from a single grinding push cart to the purchase of his
first grinding truck in 1945. Yet his drive and success did not stop there. With
the help of his sons, General Grinding continued to grow.
During his sons’ apprenticeship with him, Valentino passed along more than just
his commitment to precision craftsmanship. He also taught them dedication to
high quality customer service. It is this family tradition of pride in
workmanship and service which has allowed the Maganzini family to build General
Grinding to its present size as the largest grinding service company in the
Northeastern United States.
Today, General Services Incorporated, which became the company’s new name in
1992, is proudly operated by three generations of the Maganzini family. Our
company has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years, expanding to
offer our customers a comprehensive array of products and services. Like
Valentino, we continue to provide superior professional grinding and equipment
services with the highest level of customer service.
Founded on heritage, built with hard work, and guided by integrity, GSI strives
to set a standard of excellence in the food service industry.
